Annual Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting Awareness Day on April 25, 2017
Parental Alienation
Parental alienation sometimes occurs when parents engage in a high-conflict separation or divorce. Parental alienation means that the child has become enmeshed with one parent (the preferred parent) and has rejected a relationship with the other parent (the target parent) without legitimate justification. April 25 has been chosen as Parental Alienation Awareness Day (PAAD), part of a global awareness campaign to raise awareness about parental alienation and the fact that it is a serious form of child abuse termed ECAPA. Parental alienation is the single worst cause of child suicides and negative outcomes for children worldwide and is not officially recognized as such. An Adult PAS Child suffers the effects life long. Many Target parents either stop fighting, others go completely off the rails and commit suicide. Many murders of children by parents are committed by Alienating Parties or Target Parents. Many countries or cities now recognize the day with demonstrations and awareness events.
